Today in Slate, I write about giving birth in the out-of-doors. Today in real life, my friend Jacob stopped through St. Louis and took only the second family photos we’ve managed to get done since about two minutes after her birth. Jacob gave us great direction, including: “There’s a giant dragon behind you, but you don’t know it.”

PS I am FINALLY recovering from postpartum anemia so for the first time in three months I don’t look like an extra on iZombie.

  1. Great pictures!! Those soft, powdered-sugar marshmallow baby cheeks! Yum yum!

The parents look equal parts happy and tired.

Glad you’re all settling into a nice family routine! And even more delighted to read your articles again…
