Yesterday, when my husband read the curse-filled rant you see below, he giggled and said: “Jeez, all that actual journalism you’ve been doing has left you with some pent-up screeds, hasn’t it?” True, true.
So, without further ado, here is a piece of actual journalism. It is about Stefan Veldhuis, an extraordinarily popular adjunct at Chaffey College, who was axed in the middle of the semester with no reason and no due process whatsoever. His termination should strike terror into every educator in America, and it certainly makes me think twice when I start rambling on about how since so few people get tenure these days, nobody should have it at all. There must, must be some way to protect the rights of educators in this country–and all workers!
